There is nothing more exhilarating than finding a good beauty bargain, which I had came across when browsing around Primark. My eyes darted towards their makeup stall the second I saw it. Now I know that Primark already sells brushes, perfume and other essentials but I was flabbergasted that they now sell their own line of makeup. I um'd and ah'd as to whether or not I should give these a try and of course, I said yes the inner beauty brain can never resist. I had picked up the eyeshadow palette £2.50 and two lip liners for £1.50 for the time being.
Holy moly this eyeshadow palette is to my surprise incredible, I say to my surprise because I always have my doubts with inexpensive makeup. I have been religiously using this palette every day since the moment I first tried it which is a big commitment! I think because it is only £2.50 you won't feel disappointed if it broke or you lost it as the price is so inexpensive. This is the perfect shimmer eyeshadow palette for everyday looks as you have some neutrals, highlight and a few darker tones. Since it is a shimmer palette I know some people may walk away from this as an everyday palette but trust me when I say this the shimmer is very light you can hardly notice it at all, which is why I use it daily.
The pigmentation I would say is standard - not rubbish but not high-end quality. With an eye primer, you are pretty much going to have the eyeshadow stay on your lid all day. I use the Too Faced Shadow Insurance primer and this always keeps all branded eyeshadows on my lids all day/night. These are really easy to apply, blend in and leave the most flattering looks to your lids. I may try and include some photos of me wearing this sometime to show you how great they are.
Lip liners have never really appealed to me before it has only been the past couple of months that I've really wanted to try them. So when I saw these in Primark I thought why not give these a try and if I think they make much difference then explore in Boots for more. I picked up the classic nude and red lip liners because those are the colours I tend to use most often at the moment (plus I couldn't find any purple liners). I wasn't expecting great things from these because of how inexpensive they are.
The nude lip liner works well for giving your lips an extra lift and to shape them a lot nicer but, I wasn't a fan of the red liner. I found the red pencil very slippery almost like a liquid which was hard to control and since it is red this was easily creating a mess. I have been using the nude liner whenever I wear nude lips of course but the red liner I have kept away from for now.
Overall I am really happy with the quality of Primark eyeshadow palette I definitely recommend this to maybe girls who are starting out with makeup or who are like me and just get too curious. The lip liners are okay a little hard to work with but the nude it fine as it isn't as 'out there' compared to red. On my next visit to Primark, I might try their lipsticks or blushers.
Have you tried Primark makeup yet??
I've tried another of their palettes and was really impressed at the quality for such a low price.
ReplyDeleteI think I'll probably swerve the lip liners though, I personally prefer pencils anyway! :)

I know they really are good I wanted to try another one too!
DeleteOh I wish I picked up one of the eyeshadow palettes when I saw it yesterday, I thought to myself that I really have enough but now I'm regretting it!
ReplyDeleteI know I thought this too but yet I still bought it. You have more will power!
DeleteI've never tried Primark make-up but that eyeshadow palette does look gorgeous! Its so surprising that its good quality! :)
ReplyDeleteSarah / Sarah Smiles
I never knew they sold makeup until I popped in for these bits I must return! x
DeleteI've only ever tried eyeliners from Primark and wasn't very impressed but that eyeshadow palette looks right up my street - may have to give them a second chance! :)
ReplyDeleteBethan | Thought from Beth x
Yeah I would imagine they won't be as great. The eyeshadows are good if you use a primer! x
DeleteIt's great to hear that these products are not total rubbish! I'm not sure I'd like them, but I'd definitely get them for a beginner like you recommend!

I know I think I might do a post on beginners makeup or something x
DeleteI've never seen these products in my local Primark, I clearly haven't looked hard enough! The eyeshadow palette looks really quite good.
ReplyDeletealice x | beautybyalicee
I know apparently they have been out for awhile and I never realised!
DeleteWhenever I've looked at Primark makeup it seems to be really strange colours with their blushers and lipsticks. Like really fuchsia or bright reds and bright oranges that won't work, almost like a crayon or pressed chalk for the face. The eyeshadow palette looks very pretty though
ReplyDeletehannahbutterworth - Beauty and Lifestyle
I agree I didn't like the look of those it was only really the eyeshadows that got my attention x
DeleteHaven't tried Primark makeup but I'm curious about it since it sounds pretty good for the price :) xx
ReplyDeleteMary Bloomy
you can't go wrong with the price really if it doesn't work out then it won't be as bad as what a high end product would feel like! x
DeleteI'm a little obsessed with lip liners at the minute I may have to give these a go!
ReplyDeleteColeoftheball xx
I am too they really make a difference don't they?! x
DeleteThe nude lip liner looks a gorgeous shade!
ReplyDeletexprincessjas | ♥
I really like the nude one! Not too keen on the red though x
DeleteI have tried the mascara which is oKay, but in my closest primark there never seems to be any nice shades in anything left. But I will keep looking.

I don't think I would try the eye liner or mascara in case I get panda eyes!
DeleteI bought the nude lip liner and bloody love it! better than some high-end ones i won

I agree it is so good I love it!
DeleteI really want to try the Primark makeup but my local store doesn't stock a lot of it. Really want to try the lip liners and other bits and bobs!

keep an eye out you never know some places might be slower than others with stock xx
DeleteI haven't tried any primark makeup but it sounds descent for the price x

I really like it especially the eyeshadows well worth the money x
DeleteWow great to hear that it's actually good! I do find myself in the same boat pondering and himming and hawwing! :)

aw I am terrible when I am in Primark always doubt things!
DeleteI've never tried any of the make-up, sounds like you get value for money. I might pick up a couple of bits :)

definitely try one of the eyeshadow palettes looks lovely with some primer underneath :) x
DeleteSounds great, im really surprised as I didnt think that Primark makeup would be up to much. xxx
ReplyDeleteI agree, I don't think the mascara or eyeliner would be up to much but the shadows however are good with a primer xx
DeleteI recently purchased a few bits from Primark beauty and have also really been enjoying them. I'll have to look out for that palette when I'm next in store :) xx
ReplyDeleteIoanna | Hearting.co.uk
yes you will it is such a bargain! xx
DeleteI'm surprised how good this looks! When I first realised Primark was doing make up, I was a bit hesitant but you've actually made it sound OK, so I'll definitely have a look whenever I see it :) xx
ReplyDeleteSam | Samantha Betteridge
it isn't too bad really, I like the eyeshadow the most though I will probably pick another up sometime xx
DeleteAh, I have never tried any of their make up - may have to have a proper look the next time I am in there! :)
ReplyDeletemeimei xx
www.meimeisays.co.uk
such a nice range you can sometimes tell just by what they look like and when I looked at the shadows I did think they looked decent x
DeleteI always walk past Primark make up as I just think it will be cheap rubbish but will certainly give something a go after reading this x
ReplyDeletegillmclaughlin.blogspot.com
I know don't worry you ain't the first to think this, In fact I picked up the eyeshadows because a famous Youtuber went on about it and she is right it is a lovely palette x
DeleteI've not tried any of Primark's make up before so will definitely be picking some up next time I'm in there. It's a shame about their lip liners, I highly recommend Rimmel as they're fab! xx
ReplyDeleteVanity Fairest
The liners were ok I don't really like the red but the nude was decent and oo thank I may give them a try xx
DeleteThat's such good news about the lip liners! I wear lipstick every day but never lip liner and recently I thought I'd better give them a go. Now that I know the affordable Primark ones are good, I'll try them! Thanks so much!
ReplyDeletehttp://gemfash.blogspot.co.uk/
Definitely try the nude, the red I didn't think much of x
DeleteI love their Eyeliner Pen. It's become my everyday essential but I've never thought to try their eyeshadow. x
ReplyDeletewww.peepintokslife.blogspot.co.uk
really? I don't wear liner that much do I wouldn't buy it but some comments above don't rate it, nice to see mixed reviews x
Deleteoh the nude liner sounds alright!
ReplyDeletefrom helen at thelovecatsinc.com
Yeah I wore it yesterday actually it is a good liner the red however isn't great!
DeleteSeen their makeup a couple of times, but never appealed to me. Might just give their makeup a go and see! :) xo
ReplyDelete>Beauty & Fashion Blogger<
I know I am terrible for judging Primarks beauty range but so far so good x
DeleteI didn't know they did eyeshadow palettes so I may have to indulge now! I have tried lipglosses and lipsticks from them before, but I think I prefer the accessory side to the beauty they sell xxx
ReplyDeleteBlonde Of Carbs♥
Yes you need one in your life for £2.50! I've never tried anything from them apart from these and so far I am not disappointed xx
DeleteI've never seen their make up range before but I have used their eyelashes which I liked. Going to look for these lip liners next time I'm there x
ReplyDeleteThrough New Eyes | Beauty Blog
I have saw them a few times and wanted to give them a try as I am useless with lashes so maybe a cheap pair to practice could be useful. Yes the nude I would recommend but the red I ain't sure but you might love it! x
DeleteI wouldn't have thought Primark makeup would be any good so I've avoided it in the past but I may have to pick up that palette!

I know I think this a lot and I totally judged a book by its cover go in with an open mind and you might surprise yourself! I definitely did with the palette x
DeletePrimark got some nice makeup products.. I recently bought their 32 different shades of eyeshadows and lipglosses! They are amazing.. I never tried their lipliners before but I must try that soon :D
ReplyDeletewww.xorosiejanxo.blogspot.co.uk
I love their eyeshadows I want another palette but I don't think my drawer can contain anymore eyeshadow palettes! x
DeleteSuch pretty colors!! I wish I could find Primark in the United States
ReplyDeleteLinda - Boston Beauty Buzz
aw that is a shame maybe look online people will probably be selling them on Ebay :) x
DeleteI'm still a little dubious (given the nature of primark and the fact that that stuff will be going on my face which has skin that is prone to reacting), but I'm glad that you're liking it. I might just start off small as you did with the lipliners, try them and if I like them then I know I can get them from a different brand in the future.
ReplyDeletelittle miss fii || Fii x
no no I agree I judged a lot and I don't dare to try their skincare or any face products but eyes and lips I am fine with. Yeah maybe try with something like what I have that way your skin shouldn't react x
DeleteI've never tried any make up from Primark but I think I would be more inclined to be now knowing how much you like it!
ReplyDeleteSam xx
knockoutcouture.blogspot.co.uk
Definitely like the eye shadows I do think they look amazing with some eye primer though I think without it maybe a bit rubbish x
DeleteI like the look of Primark makeup but I think lots of drugstore brands can do a better job for a similar price! I'd rather pay an extra few quid and know I'm getting more pigmentation in my eye shadows!
ReplyDeletewww.KatHorrocks.com
You are probably right yes, I think it was because it is from a big branded high street shop that I was too curious not to! x
Deletei am now very curious to give it a try! Great post, really enjoyed it,
ReplyDeleteHollie xx
Thank you glad you enjoyed it!
DeletePrimark are really good for swatches and testing which is good for deciding x
I honestly didn't even know that Primark sold makeup. I definitely need to try that eyeshadow palette, the colours are gorgeous, and it's obviously great, so why not! love this review! xxx
ReplyDeleteEden x / edenroses
quite a lot of people didn't and I never even knew they sold it for awhile. Yeah I love it but use it with an eye primer though I can imagine without it the pigmentation will lack xx
DeleteOoh really interesting! I have avoided Primark makeup but will for sure consider it next time I am shopping x

I think I will be avoiding any face product but for eyes and lips I think they are safe places to try x

ReplyDeleteLots of love, Charline xx
ooo yes those would of come in so much use! xx
DeleteSo timely to read this now! I just bought the Primark brand matte lipstick and was so surprised...it is totally matte, but creamy. Mattes usually are drying on the lips...I'm going back for more colors!
ReplyDeleteReally? I never thought to try those out but then again eyeshadow is what draws me in! x
DeleteI would never have thought of trying their makeup; but might have a nosy at it now :-)
